Frequently Asked Questions
I have a good camera on my phone. Why should I hire a photographer?
Because a professional photographer (like me) invests a lot in their equipment and education. You do have a good camera on your phone for everyday things. But if you want someone who understands proper exposure, knows how to work in all kinds of light, and can make your images worthy of hanging on the wall, you need a pro.
What locations are available?
There are so many wonderful places to choose from. Consider the Riparian Preserve, Tempe Town Lake, the Salt River, Papago Park, or Lost Dutchman State Park. The Phoenix area is home to some amazing locations, so if you have a favorite, let me know! I will also travel to Sedona, Flagstaff, Tucson, and other locations in Arizona for a travel fee.

How long does it take to get images back?
Normal turnaround time is 21 calendar days from the date of your session. This allows me adequate time to cull and edit your images. Large groups and corporate events will take longer, and delivery will be specified in your contract.

Can I have the RAW images to edit myself?

I do not release or sell RAW images under any circumstances.
Where can I order prints?
I can connect you with a professional lab that offers prints and other products, such as albums, canvas/metal prints, cards, and other gift items. It is not recommended that you have prints made at big box or drug stores. A high quality lab is essential for getting the best images possible.

Why don't you give as many images as other photographers?

If you are promised 30, 40, or even 60 images, there's a good chance many of them will be the same image with minor differences in cropping or editing. I want you to have a meaningful selection of unique images. While I may be able to provide more images than promised based on your session, I will only do so if they meet my standards for quality.

What kind of editing do you do?

I edit each image individually using Lightroom. I will generally do minor re-touching, such as covering blemishes or color correction, but I will not make drastic changes. I want you to see a true reflection, not an airbrushed fantasy.
